FAQ

What types of dogs do you accept?

We specialize in medium to large breed dogs under the age of two. We also accept unaltered (not spayed/neutered) dogs.

Do you allow group play or free-roam?

Most interaction is human-led and one-on-one or two-on-one, but we do attempt to let out in small group batches when temperaments allow. Dogs and employee safety are of top importance, but socialization is also a priority.

What’s included in the training program?

Our 3-week training program includes boarding, recreation, food, medication, and personalized obedience training. We also offer ongoing support and follow-up guidance after your dog goes home to reinforce success.

Is there an age limit for training?

Yes. We typically accept dogs under 2 years old for our full training program. This age range ensures the best outcomes and long-term results. For older dogs, we offer one-on-one sessions to help address specific behaviors.

Can I visit the facility before boarding my dog?

Absolutely! We welcome new families to visit during business hours—no appointment necessary. It’s the best way to get a feel for our environment and team.

What kind of food do you provide?

We feed Fromm Gold—premium, U.S.-made dog food known for its nutritional value. If you'd like us to feed this to your dog, it’s an additional $5/night. Otherwise, owners are encouraged to bring their own food.

How do I get on the waitlist for a RoddyDog puppy?

To reserve your spot, submit a $200 refundable deposit. Selection occurs at our Pick Party, where families meet the litter and choose based on deposit order. Visits and questions are welcome before selection day.

Can you train aggressive or reactive dogs?

Yes. We’re one of the few facilities in the region equipped to train semi-aggressive dogs. All dogs are evaluated prior to acceptance, and an additional fee of $600/month applies.

How often is my dog let outside?

Dogs are let out up to six times a day between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM. Let-outs are approximately every 2–3 hours. Our structured schedule provides predictability and comfort for every dog.

What does the let-out area look like?

Our dogs enjoy a secure, grassy outdoor space—not gravel or concrete. While the environment is enriching, it’s designed to be clean and calm—not a playground.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated before coming?

Yes. All dogs must be up to date on the following vaccinations:

  • Rabies

  • DHPP

  • Bordetella (available on-site for $25)

What should I bring when boarding my dog?

Please bring clearly labeled medication and your dog’s food if you are not using our kennel’s food. You may bring a favorite blanket or toy, but items will be removed if they pose a safety risk. We do not allow collars or harnesses in the kennels for safety reasons.

Is there an extra fee for early check-in or late pick-up?

Yes. Check-out is by 12:00 PM EST and check-in begins at 1:30 PM EST. A $20 fee applies for early check-ins or late check-outs. Sunday pick-up/drop-off is between 2:00–4:00 PM only.

Can I visit the litter before making my selection?

Yes! If you're on our deposit list, you’re welcome to meet the puppies in person prior to the Pick Party to help inform your choice.

Do you offer services during holidays?

Yes! We operate year-round. For peak holiday weeks like Spring Break, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, we require a 50% deposit to reserve your spot.
