Jim Reynolds leads the training program at Blowing Springs Kennel with decades of hands-on experience and a passion for results-driven, relationship-based methods.
Trained under the Roddy Method—a unique philosophy developed over 25 years—he brings a calm, effective approach to every session. By focusing on simplicity, consistency, and the proven balance of pressure and praise, Jim helps both dogs and their owners build lasting trust and communication.
Whether he’s working with family companions or hunting retrievers, Jim’s dedication to the craft is evident in every dog that comes through the kennel.

Carter Lomax | Site Manager
Carter Lomax joined the Blowing Springs team during the pandemic and quickly became a vital force behind the scenes. What began as a career shift from teaching soon evolved into learning the ins and outs of running a small business—and training dogs—with Jim by her side.
Today, the two lead the Cumming location with energy, heart, and shared purpose. They are both supporters and committee members for the Forsyth Ducks Unlimited Chapter. While Carter balances life as a mom to two Labradors and a toddler, she keeps the kennel running with precision. From managing bookings and the client portal to overseeing social media and even jumping in to assist with training, Carter’s versatility and commitment make her an integral part of the BSK experience.

Home of the RoddyDog, Blowing Springs Kennel has been carefully breeding a special line of chocolate labs for nearly 40 years. This line is known not just for its good looks—but for its health, intelligence, and temperament.
Bloodline Standards: The RoddyDog line has been developed at Blowing Springs Kennel for nearly 40 years. We breed for calm temperament, health, and structure—prioritizing short, soft coats, big ears, and eager-to-work energy in every pup.
Puppy Promise: All puppies go home with a 26-month limited warranty on hips and eyes, a microchip, prepaid AKC registration, and are up to date on vaccinations, worming, and vet checks. They're socialized, started on crate and lead training, and even introduced to swimming and retrieving.
How to Reserve: To get on the waitlist, send a refundable $200 deposit. Selection happens in order of deposit date at our Pick Party, where families meet the litter and make their choice. Visits and questions welcome before selection day—we’re here to help you find the perfect match.
