Jim Reynolds leads the training program at Blowing Springs Kennel with decades of hands-on experience and a passion for results-driven, relationship-based methods.
Trained under the Roddy Method—a unique philosophy developed over 25 years—he brings a calm, effective approach to every session. By focusing on simplicity, consistency, and the proven balance of pressure and praise, Jim helps both dogs and their owners build lasting trust and communication.
Whether he’s working with family companions or hunting retrievers, Jim’s dedication to the craft is evident in every dog that comes through the kennel.
Carter Lomax | Operations Consultant
Carter Lomax joined Blowing Springs Kennel during the pandemic and quickly became a driving force behind its growth. What began as a career shift from teaching soon developed into a deep understanding of small-business operations, canine care, and the unique training philosophy at BSK.

After several years leading the Cumming location, Carter has transitioned into a remote role where she continues to support the kennel through consulting, systems oversight, and bookkeeping. Her dedication, versatility, and behind-the-scenes leadership remain an essential part of the BSK experience.

Catherine Day | Practice Manager
Catherine brings more than 20 years of hands-on experience in veterinary medicine, animal care, and team leadership. She began her career in 2003 as a receptionist at a veterinary clinic and, through dedication and an unwavering work ethic, grew into the role of Practice Manager.

Today, she leads the day-to-day operations at Blowing Springs Kennel, ensuring every element of the guest experience runs smoothly—from staff development and animal care standards to customer communication and facility oversight. Catherine is passionate about creating a supportive, well-trained team that delivers exceptional care to every dog entrusted to us.

A lifelong learner with extensive training and real-world expertise, she approaches each day with calm leadership, operational excellence, and a deep love for animals—including her two rescued German Shepherds who are living their very best (and very spoiled) lives.

Home of the RoddyDog, Blowing Springs Kennel has been carefully breeding a special line of chocolate labs for nearly 40 years. This line is known not just for its good looks—but for its health, intelligence, and temperament.
Bloodline Standards: The RoddyDog line has been developed at Blowing Springs Kennel for nearly 40 years. We breed for calm temperament, health, and structure—prioritizing short, soft coats, big ears, and eager-to-work energy in every pup.
Puppy Promise: All puppies go home with a 26-month limited warranty on hips and eyes, a microchip, prepaid AKC registration, and are up to date on vaccinations, worming, and vet checks. They're socialized, started on crate and lead training, and even introduced to swimming and retrieving.
How to Reserve: To get on the waitlist, send a refundable $200 deposit. Selection happens in order of deposit date at our Pick Party, where families meet the litter and make their choice. Visits and questions welcome before selection day—we’re here to help you find the perfect match.
